Recently I traveled to Thailand, Taiwan, and Myanmar (formerly Burma). I went to a tailor and a seamstress in Bangkok in order to have a suit and two blazers custom made, because...you know...big boob problems resulted in me not having properly fitting executive attire. I also splurged on pearls, jade jewelry, and silk because they are much cheaper in Thailand compared to the USA. In Myanmar, I immediately notice that both men and women wear a long skirt called a longyi. Some are made of cotton with solid colors while others have sophisticated embroidery on fancier fabric. I fell in love with longyis and had one made at the Bogyoke Aung San Market in Yangon (see photo). I find inspiration in culturally specific fashions and plan on working with designers from all over the world in the near future. More to come...
